The average commute to Calistoga is 31 minutes, Downtown Napa is 1.16 minutes, San Francisco is 2.9 minutes, Lower Lake 14 minutes, Clearlake Oaks is 27 minutes, Lakeport is 41 minutes and Clear Lake is 40 minutes. There are local grocery and dining all within a 5 to 10-minute drive.
In Hidden Valley Lake, the summers are hot, arid, and mostly clear and the winters are very cold, wet, and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 34°F to 91°F and is rarely below 25°F or above 100°F.

Miles of hiking and biking trails expand over open rolling hills. Our Parks have Little League Fields, basketball courts, a children’s playground, and a picnic area that is rarely empty. At North Shore Park, you can chat with fellow fishermen on the fishing pier or encourage the family dog to get wet at the pet swimming area. If you’re not hooked on fishing, smack a few balls around at the tennis courts, or walk next door and really relieve any balled-up stress at the Driving Range.

Since 1943 Hardester's Markets and Hardware has been in the grocery and hardware business serving the southern Lake County area. Hardester's was originally known as "The Corner Store," and was located at the corner of Calistoga Rd and Main St. in Middletown. Later, the Middletown store*, moved to its present location in Middletown (1960), and two more locations were added, Cobb (1986) , and Hidden Valley (1993).
